Library server upgrade Oct. 23-27

Reminder. The library is moving to a new server. Interruptions in services are anticipated to be minor.

Students are able to go to sirsi.life.edu to search the library catalog as usual.
Students will be able to check out, return and renew items.

Students will not be able to obtain account information such as how many books they have checked out, when their previously checked out books are due and will not be able to pay fines for overdues.

ATTENTION! GALILEO Password Changes Every Quarter

Visit the Reference Desk to obtain the new password to use GALILEO. New password is valid until June 27, 2009. You will need this password to access GALILEO from off-campus.

What is GALILEO? GALILEO stands for GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online and consists of over 100 databases online. Educational institutions (including public schools, public libararies and universities) all across Georgia subscribe to this powerful database of databases. Life University subscribes to the academic version.

If you are searching for information, this should be a starting place. GALILEO includes databases for searching journal articles, encyclopedias, business directories, many major newspapers, and goverment publications.

Visit GALILEO at: http://galileo.usg.edu/ to take a look. Subject tabs at top group databases by topic such as Business, Medicine/Nutrition, etc.
